CALVI to PORTO 17th May

A short ride - amazing scenery.

Today was only a short ride,90 kms, but the most amazing scenery. We left Calvi, still with no communication. This will have to be sorted out when we get to Ajaccio. The ride was through the mountains and then down along he coast. The most amazing scenery imagineable, rugged cliff edges, brilliant blue sea. Lots of stops for photos and to just admire the view. Pictures tell the story. We arrived at Porto in time for lunch and a rest. We have found other motorists (cars, bikes vans etc) very courteous, they pull over to the side of the road to let us pass, riders will pass carefully (yes pass us !!) we are tourists admiring the view after all. Besides those cliff edges are very scarey, not the time to be testing our cornering skills - one slip and you are straight over the edge. Porto is a lovely little village on the coast where we witnessed an amazing sunset. Did feel like the sun was setting in the East - my inner GPS is totally mixed up. Enjoy the photos.
Note : BMW R1100RT - security system - Big lump of metal (Harley LOL) and Steve serenading me in front of the map of Corsica.
The painting is the symbol of Corsica - we see this everywhere, on hats, shirts, flags.
